How to find us

Nestled at the foot of the Howardian Hills, Thrush Nest Holiday Cottages are on the site of a former working farm. These days there’s no animals to wake you up or tractors trundling by so you can expect peace and quiet in our rural retreat.

From the south

To find us, simply get yourself to the A1237 York ring road. It’s easily accessed off the A1M. Once on the ring road you need the Wigginton turning north, away from the city. You’ll see a sign for The Web Adventure Park, Huby and Sutton on the Forest.

Travel straight along this road (Wigginton Road) and straight through the traffic lights. The road eventually becomes York Road and you need to take a right-hand turning down Goose Lane. Follow this road for a few minutes. It swings steeply to the left (by Goosewood Holiday Park) to become Carr Lane and you need the next right. You’ll find us on the left about a minute along this road. Look for the wishing wells with the house names by the side of the road.

Head down the drive towards the cottages in front of you. Parking for Wren and Stable is on the pebbled area in front of the cottages. Parking for The Old Dog House is closer to the cottage, so follow the drive towards the garages past Wren and Stable on your right. Parking is where the drive ends with The Old Dog House on your right.

From the North

From the A19 take the turning for Huby (Baston Lane). Follow it until you get into the village of Huby and at the T-junction turn right on to Bell Lane. Follow this into Sutton On the Forest – and past one of our favourite pubs, the Rose & Crown. Turn right at the mini roundabout on to Carr Lane, then take the first left. You’ll find us on the left about a minute along this road. Look for the wishing wells with the house names by the side of the road.
